To celebrate the upcoming Halloween season, sparkling wine brand Freixenet has created a range of devilish cocktail recipes, featuring the brands famous Freixenet Cordon Negro Cava (RRP £11) to help cocktail lovers celebrate in style this 31st October.

Poisoned Plum

A deadly addictive cocktail with a subtle Halloween theme. Focused on dark plums, this cocktail is both intriguing and delicious.

Ingredients

 

2 dark plums

6 Thyme sprigs

Juice from one lemon

4 tbsp thyme simple syrup

Freixenet Cordon Negro

Peel and chop 2 plums. Muddle the plums with the thyme simple syrup and lemon juice until all of the plum juices have been released. Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour over crushed ice evenly between two glasses and top off with Freixenet Cordon Negro. Garnish with extra plum slices and thyme sprigs.

(Serves 2)

Transylvanian Blood Punch

Easy to make, this tipple is the perfect punch for a large Halloween party. Bloody delicious.

Ingredients

25ml Gin

100ml Cherry Juice

100ml Freixenet Cordon Negro

25ml Gomme Syrup

Add the gin and the Gomme to the bottom of a wine glass, pour in the cherry juice, stir and top up with chilled Freixenet Cordon Negro.

(Serves 1)

Black Widow

A fruity favourite, this dark berry drink is topped off with blackberries, creating a moody and monochromatic insta-worthy cocktail. A perfectly sophisticated and spooky choice for a Halloween soiree.

Ingredients

1 cup of blackberries

1/3 cup pomegranate juice

10ml vodka

Freixenet Cordon Negro

Muddle the blackberries and place in shaker with juice and vodka. For a thicker consistency, more blackberries can be added. Shake for 20 seconds, strain into glass. Top up with chilled Freixenet Cordon Negro and garnish with blackberries on a pick.
