International travel and lifestyle brand, Karma Group, has donated 500 three-month memberships to Karma Club for NHS staff as part of its ongoing Karma Frontline initiative. This pledge of support is in partnership with Operation Recuperation, which was set up in March 2020 by Oxfordshire-based Rachel Sherwood to provide recuperative breaks for front-line healthcare workers, to take when the time is right.
The complimentary Associate Memberships include a free overnight stay, bed and breakfast for two people at newly opened Karma Salford Hall in the heart of the Cotswolds, or other selected Karma Group destinations including the Isles of Scilly in the UK and worldwide. As well as a host of other VIP discounts and offers including 15% off all food and drinks across the properties, not only during the hotel stay but for the entire three-month membership.
The 500 key workers will also be gifted a bottle of Karma house wine to enjoy during their stay and if they would like to join Karma Club as a full member at any point, they will receive another free Associate Membership including an overnight stay for a friend, family member or colleague.
In keeping with the Karma namesake, Founder & Chairman John Spence believes that the universe gives back to those who do good and he’s dedicated to ensuring NHS workers are rewarded for their hard work, with this initiative encouraging holiday time to recover during the most challenging experience of their careers.
In March 2020, Karma Group donated week-long and short stay holidays to seven frontline workers with Operation Recuperation. Destinations included Bali, Goa, Tuscany, Crete, Isles of Scilly and Berkshire with family and colleagues also invited for when they could travel from home. Since then, John has strived to do more to give back, and this latest pledge means Operation Recuperation has been able to give away almost 1,000 stays and experiences to NHS staff and their loved ones from the UK’s hardest hit hospitals since March 2020.
John commented “It’s been an utter revelation to realise how vulnerable and dependent we all are on the NHS who have been doing a fantastic job and we want to keep sending a message of hope. The stories from our frontline workers were heart-wrenching and we wanted to do more. Karma Group is dedicated to making a positive influence which is why we are delighted to be giving away another 500 hotel stays to NHS staff”
