Great Scotland Yard Hotel’s Multi-Sensory Jubilee Afternoon Tea

Great Scotland Yard Hotel, London, is launching a multi-sensory Jubilee Afternoon Tea available this summer, in partnership with the iconic perfumery, Floris London, the only appointed perfumer to Her Majesty The Queen, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Taking place in The Parlour, a room which draws on tales of Britain’s Victorian explorers, the multi-sensory Jubilee Afternoon Tea has been inspired by the notes of the historical British perfumiers luxury fragrance “Platinum 22 Eau De Parfum”. The Jubilee Afternoon Tea has been created by the hotel’s Head Pastry Chef, Verónica Garrido Martínez, allowing guests the opportunity to explore this exclusive perfume.

The special fragrance was created by Floris London to honour and celebrate the historic milestone of the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II. It takes inspiration from the flora of Her Majesty’s beautiful gardens, which surround her UK residences.

The scent is reflected through an assortment of delicious cakes and patisserie that incorporate the key notes from the fragrance. Indulge in savoury finger sandwiches from ‘Coronation Chicken and Pickled Onion on Granary Bread’ to ‘Smoked Salmon, Asparagus, Horseradish and Avruga Caviar on Pain de Mie’. With freshly baked warm scones accompanied with ‘Cornish Clotted Cream and Blackcurrant Jam’, dine on an assortment of seasonal teacakes and delicate pastries including ‘Oat, Honey and Apricot Primrose Hat’, ‘Violet Battenberg’ and ‘Imperial State Crown Lime Cookie’.

In support of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative, Floris will “Plant a Tree for The Jubilee”, whereby each tree planted will represent one year of Her Majesty’s service.
