Mother’s Day Vintage Afternoon Tea Dance at the St. Ermin’s

With toe-tapping music by 40’s girl group The Lily Belles filling the airandprofessional dancers leading the way on the dancefloor with a Lindyhop or Jive, the St. Ermins Hotel in London’s St James’ Park is taking a trip down memory lane, hosting a 1940s themed Afternoon Tea Dance in its iconic Crystal Ballroom this Mother’s Day weekend (18th& 19th March).

A delectable afternoon tea will be served with unlimited French sparkling wine in the grand Crystal Ballroom which will be the epitome of a traditional British party; bunting and Union Jack colours draped across the walls, bunches of flowers festooned throughout, all taking guests back to a bygone era.

As one of London’s most intriguing historic properties, particularly during the 1940s, when Churchill famously held secret meetings at the St. Ermin’s to set up the Special Operations Executive – the St. Ermin’s team have been inspired by all that was and is great about Britain to provide a vintage backdrop and theme for a spectacular Mother’s Day afternoon tea celebration.

Churchill would surely approve, as he held his mother in the highest esteem. To quote: “My mother made a brilliant impression upon my childhood life. She shone for me like the evening star”.
