Ladurée Opens for Tea and Haute Cuisine in London’s Covent Garden

Iconic French pâtisserie brand Ladurée, renowned for its macarons and timeless elegance, has announced the new opening of a brand-new space in London’s Covent Garden, above the flagship store which overlooks the famous piazza. Set to be the market’s best-kept secret, the room is the jewel in Ladurée’s crown, a beautiful space where guests will be able to enjoy haute French cuisine in a stunning, Versailles-inspired setting. As well as Ladurée’s signature patisserie, macaron and afternoon tea offering, the space will also serve as a dining room, showcasing a gastronomy style inspired by Paris, with accents of London.

This new space represents the pinnacle of Ladurée’s design vision, drawing inspiration from Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors as well as the classic features of the halls of English Manor houses; all whilst championing the iconic architecture and views of Covent Garden. This reinvented space has carefully juxtaposed profound French elegance with the classic feel of London’s historic buildings, with each visit transporting guests to another time; immersed in gilded yet sophisticated glamour.

The new space will play host to Ladurée’s beautiful new take on its classic afternoon tea offering, where guests will be able to enjoy the mastery of Chef Julian Alvarez’s work. A beautiful harmony of Anglo-French, the tea offering will contain finger sandwiches and Ladurée’s fresh scones, as well as miniature patisserie Plaisir Sucré and Ispahan, and, of course, Ladurée’s iconic signature macaron. Each guest will receive a glass of Ladurée’s vintage champagne, and accompanying hot beverages, including an impressively extensive list of teas.

Come evening, food is classic and continues the union of British and French. There will be revisited classics such as the signature Vol au Vent, as well as scallops with Jerusalem artichoke, and a special beef Wellington fillet for two to share.

Tucked away behind Ladurée’s salon de thé and terraces, the room is set to become a best- kept secret of Londoners and visitors alike – a beautiful, mesmerising hall providing an opulent oasis from London’s bustling streets below.
