Central London’s Largest Private Igloo at 1864 Rooftop

Perched on the 6th floor high above the sparkling Christmas lights of Oxford Street, 1864 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen at John Lewis Oxford Street transforms once again into a magical winter hideaway — this year unveiling a brand-new private igloo accommodating up to 40 guests standing or 20 seated, perfect for larger celebrations and private events.

The festive installation features a collection of cosy heated igloos, inviting guests to dine under the stars while enjoying panoramic city views and the specially curated Festive Feasting Menu, designed exclusively for the igloos.

The igloo Festive Feasting Menu (here) brings together 1864’s most-loved dishes and seasonal creations, with a focus on bold winter flavours and sharing-style dining. Guests can enjoy highlights such as Crispy fried chicken with fermented chilli; Lamb skewers with jalapeño cream; Slow-cooked Jacob’s ladder; and decadent desserts including Sticky toffee pudding; and Dark chocolate crème brûlée. The Igloo Lunch is priced at £75 per person and Igloo Dinner at £85 per person, with menus designed for groups of six or more and drink packages or private dining options available for larger celebrations.

For those dining at 1864’s other cosy tables, both inside and out, a seasonal à la carte menu (here) offers a range of indulgent small and large plates. Highlights include Chorizo croquetas with Manchego; Kale and samphire fritters with tamarind chutney; Rib eye steak with chimichurri; Pan-fried sea bream with prawn butter sauce, and indulgent desserts such as Burnt Basque cheesecake; and Churros with hot chocolate sauce.
