The Pilates Pod is about to get even better.
This Summer, they’re incredibly excited to be re-launching their Hitchin studio into an all new full apparatus Classical Pilates studio. Featuring Wunda chair, High Chair, Classical Reformers, Towers, Ladder Barrel, Spine Correctors, Toe Gizmo, Foot Corrector, Sandbag, Neck stretcher, aeroplane board and classical high mats complete with straps and dowel handles.
This authentic experience of a Pilates studio is currently only available in London and up north, so this is a major asset for the whole of Hertfordshire.
Owner and lead teacher, Michelle said “We are immensely proud to be bringing this to the area. There is so much more to Pilates than Mat or Reformer, Matwork is just 2% of the Pilates system! By integrating the entire system of apparatus and mat, you make tremendous changes to the body and do Pilates the way it was created by Joe Pilates himself.”
As well as the studio, the Pod also launch their Pilates Teacher Training Academy this year, in conjunction with world respected Pi Studios in London. Now you have the opportunity to be a teacher of Matwork or the full comprehensive programme, trained by teachers with a direct lineage to Joe Pilates himself.
Studio Co-ordinator, Ellen Tipping, said “Pilates still does not have a governing body which means the standard of teachers can hugely vary from never progressing past a basic mat qualification, a short crash course on everything, or a personal trainer being shown how to use a Reformer. Classical full comp training means an indepth course covering all the apparatus and mat exercises Joe created and then a 600 apprenticeship with Michelle as your ongoing mentor. The standard doesn’t get any higher!”
