Launching this autumn, Crabtree & Crabtree will be offering a collection of NEW immersive C&C Epicurean Experiences to guests staying at their self-catering properties in Northumberland and the South of Scotland, centred around the very best local food and drink in the region.
Each gastronomic experience has been designed in close collaboration with exceptional local artisans and experts, pulled from Crabtree & Crabtree’s extensive Little Black Book of contacts. From stargazing suppers, wild dining and foraging to cocktail masterclasses, wine tasting and cooking classes – guests will have the opportunity to get under the skin of their chosen holiday destination, learn a new skill or satiate current interests.
Stargazing Suppers (Northumberland)
Dine with the stars with an intimate moonlit supper and stargazing experience. Held in the garden or candlelit bothy of their C&C holiday, guests will be treated to an illuminating session by a local astronomer who will reveal the sights of constellations, planets, shooting starts and the Milky Way as they enjoy a three-course ‘dinner in the dark’ menu. Specially created to be savoured in the inky dark, the menu comprises of dishes that masterfully balance taste, texture and aroma using ingredients such as chicken liver parfait, crispy shallots, torched mackerel, tangy gooseberries and popping candy. Spirit of the Wilderness / Cocktail Masterclass (Northumberland)
Rewild your drinking experience on your next visit to Northumberland with a C&C exclusive trip to Hepple Spirits. Guests will be taken on a private tour of the Hepple distillery, followed by a fragrant botanical walk around the estate looking at the wild juniper bushes and Douglas Fir trees that give the sprits their unique flavour, before heading to a secret, hidden bar in the moors where they will enjoy a tasting, a cocktail or a classic gin and tonic. Should guests prefer to stay at their C&C holiday home, they can opt for a cocktail and oyster masterclass, whereby a local bartender will demonstrate how to serve up a perfect Hepple martini, which can be enjoyed alongside a plate of fresh local Lindisfarne oysters. Over the course of the evening, guests will enjoy sampling an array of wines ranging from rich and exuberant reds such as Pomerol and Chateau-Neuf-du-Pape to light and elegant options including Albarino or a Montauberon rosé alongside a handpicked selection of wonderful cheese.
