Visit The Treehouses at Lanrick for a Burns Night Getaway

In celebration of the life and legacy of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, The Treehouses at Lanrick’s two-night Burns Night Escape, takes place from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th January 2026. True to Robert Burns’ own words – “Freedom and whisky gang thegither” – this is an exciting opportunity for guests to delve into the spirit of Scottish heritage, with whisky tastings and all the traditional Burns Night trimmings for a truly authentic and memorable experience.

A tradition which began shortly after Robert Burns’ death in 1796, Burns Night on the 25th January has grown into an annual festive occasion marked by poetry readings, music, and a traditional Scottish supper. Central to the evening is the recitation of Burns’s famous poem Address to a Haggis, which accompanies the ceremonial serving of haggis. The event often includes toasts with whisky, the singing of Burns’s songs like Auld Lang Syne, and reflections on Scottish heritage, making it both a literary tribute and a celebration of national pride.

The two-night Burns Night Escape includes an exclusive whisky tasting hosted by the expert team at Deanston Distillery, followed by a three-course open-fire dining experience at the Lanrick Fishing Hut. Curated by the talented team at Rors Kitchen, the menu offers a creative take on the traditional Burns Night supper, blending interactive elements with elevated Scottish flavours, all cooked over flame for an unforgettable and theatrical evening of food, whisky, and warm Highland hospitality.

Guests will stay in one of five eco-friendly and luxury treehouses, nestled high among the canopies of ancient beech, oak, and sycamore trees along the tranquil banks of the River Teith. In the depths of winter, the frosted woodlands sparkle with a quiet enchantment, while inside, the wood-burning stoves and underfloor heating create cosy, cocoon-like treetop retreats. Wi-fi free, guests are invited to immerse themselves in nature; whether star gazing in alfresco copper baths, relaxing in the stunning woodland sauna or indulging in Swedish massages under the open sky.
