Cuba – The Best Place to Visit This November

CN Traveller has just named Cuba the best destination to visit in November, and destination specialists Cuba Holidays couldn’t agree more.

In light of this new distinction, the Cuba holiday experts are celebrating everything the Caribbean destination stands for as the winter season starts setting in.

The vibrant island offers the perfect combination of time-warped enchantment and secluded tropical beaches, which are warm and mostly rain-free during November.

Cuba also happens to be one of the most culturally vibrant destinations in the world, with a fantastic blend of rum, cigars, and salsa all screaming “exotic holiday” like nowhere else possibly could. It’s rewarding and safe to travel around Cuba independently, meaning you can explore the country in a way that’s not possible at most major tourist destinations.

Cuban tourism is continuing to grow in the wake of improved transport links and the opening of new resorts from major international hotel chains. For example, Thomas Cook just recently announced the relaunch of a direct flight to Cuba’s central city of Santa Clara, making it easier for travellers to get out and explore more of the country.

Interest has been peaking in Cuba over the last year; not only has the capital city of Havana been brought to light by being featured in the No. 1 Camila Cabello song, but the destination has been increasingly in the limelight since the country first started to open for US visitors.

Cuba has gone on to quickly become one of the most popular travel destinations in the world and is at the top of many holidaymakers’ bucket lists. In 2017, over 200,000 Brits travelled to Cuba, and the country experienced a 23% increase in international travellers compared to the previous year.

In spite of this, the big resorts haven’t entirely made it to all the beaches yet, and Havana still boasts a rickety, time-warp romanticism sure to cast its spell on you. There’s also an up and coming chic bar and hotel scene, catering to the more sophisticated traveller – such as the colonial vibe of twenties-era Casa Habana, or the lavish Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana. The same goes for the atmospheric 304 O’Reilly; a toy warehouse turned gin bar.

Set to be a big hit destination for 2019, November 2018 is the best time to visit the country – even if it’s only to avoid the crowds that settle from December to February.

Cuba Holidays offer an incredible selection of hotels and experiences in Cuba, enabling travellers to take in the wonders of Havana and beyond, including dance classes, food tours and birdwatching adventures.

For a last-minute deal this November, Cuba Holidays are offering a fantastic multi-centre holiday package visiting both the centenarian city of Havana (which is turning 500 years old next year) and the dramatic countryside beauty of Viñales.

The fabulous offer includes traditional accommodation staying with a Cuban host at an authentic “casa particular” in Havana, allowing for a real taste of the local way of life, plus charming accommodation on the Viñales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This special last-minute offer starts from £1029pp, including 7 nights’ accommodation, return flights and transfers Cuba Holidays
