Where Pollinators Meet Pumpkins: A Spellbinding Afternoon Tea

As autumn casts its golden spell over Hyde Park, Royal Lancaster London invites guests to step into a whimsical world where pollinators meet pumpkins. In collaboration with the Natural History Museum, the hotel’s Blooming British Afternoon Tea transforms a quintessentially British ritual into a seasonal celebration of flora, fauna and a touch of Halloween magic.

The experience begins with delicate savouries, think maize-fed chicken with bee pollen and smoked salmon with dill, before warm scones arrive, fragrant and fresh from the oven. But it’s the sweets that steal the show: a glossy Beehive of yogurt mousse and blackberry, a Pear Babadrenched in Poire William, and the star of the season, a sage-infused Pumpkin Cheesecake that feels made for crisp October afternoons. For younger gourmands, playful treats such as The Ladybird and Chocolate Seedball bring a dash of storytelling to the table.

Sip on bespoke brews from Camellia’s Tea House, including the honey-kissed Pollinator Blend, or elevate the occasion with a glass of Nyetimber or Taittinger. Afterwards, stroll the leafy “nature walk” from the hotel’s doorstep through Hyde Park to the Natural History Museum, a gentle reminder that this is more than just a feast; it’s a celebration of nature’s beauty, bees, and the small wonders of the season.
