New Ship in the Amazon

Audley Travel is delighted to offer clients access to Delfin III, a ship that offers an immersive rainforest experience whilst travelling in luxurious surroundings. Sailings on the ship fit perfectly into several of Audley’s Peruvian sample itineraries, which combine the land-based highlights of the country with a water-based adventure on the Amazon. A new flight has launched from Cuzco to Iquitos, making it easier than ever before to get there.

After a couple of days exploring Cuzco, the Sacred Valley and bucket-list destination Machu Picchu, clients fly north to the Amazon basin. Here they board Delfin III for a three-night cruise in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. During the trip, clients will disembark the boat to explore the jungle on foot, watching for wildlife as well as enjoying the native flora and fauna.

Delfin III is a fantastic ship with accommodation in four room classes. Eight suites offer floor to ceiling panoramic windows, with two additional corner suites at the front of the ship. There are 10 Upper Suites on the second deck and the final suite is the Owner’s Suite, the largest on-board. The top deck of the ship houses an indoor and outdoor lounge, a sundeck with plunge pool, a gym and bar. The on-board spa offers Yacamini stone massages, soothing avocado wraps and invigorating coffee-cocoa scrubs.

Shore excursions include wildlife spotting trips, with an expert naturalist guide travelling with each small group. On-board activities include cultural performances, discussions with expert naturalists, and Peruvian cooking classes.

An 12-day tailor-made trip, Wonders of Peru: Cuzco, Machu Picchu and Amazon cruise, costs from £5,935 per person (based on two sharing) and includes flights, transfers, three day cruise, hotel accommodation, excursions and a private car with a guide.
