How to Match your Eternity Ring with a Solitaire Engagement Ring

Have you thought about purchasing an eternity band to complete the engagement ring ensemble? These special items are typically bought to celebrate a milestone in a relationship or an important occasion – they’re also traditionally bought after a couple has gotten married. But after dealing with the stresses of wedding planning, and toiling to identify the perfect engagement ring, you will want to also ensure the eternity band is just as perfect, complementing the rest of the jewellery.

But how can this be achieved? There are a few key things to bear in mind when searching for your dream eternity ring. Pay attention to the following three areas and you’ll be sure to come away with the perfect ring that beautifully matches your collection.

Metal

The first thing to consider is what metal you want your eternity ring to be made of. Traditionally, it’s common to stick to one colour throughout your ring ensemble – this will be one of the best ways to ensure your eternity and engagement bands match.  But if you want to be a little different, you can always mix your metals. Just because you have a platinum engagement ring, doesn’t mean you can’t wear a rose gold eternity ring, for example.

Setting

Next, take a look at the setting of your engagement ring, since solitaires come in all different shapes and sizes. For instance, a bezel-set solitaire ring will sit nicely alongside a bezel eternity ring, where every individual diamond is fully surrounded by metal. Whereas a claw-set eternity band will better display the diamonds, so could detract from the engagement ring unless it’s in a more revealing setting, like a four or six-claw setting. If you still want the engagement ring to be the star of the show, this will be an important area to consider.

Style

Finally, think about the overall style of your engagement ring, as well as your personal stylistic preferences. Do you prefer refined designs or something more conspicuous? If it’s an understated solitaire, it may be better suited to a half band. Or, if both your style and engagement ring are slightly more flamboyant, you may prefer a full band to match, where diamonds surround the entirety of the ring. It’s really up to you.

Find your style

Picking an eternity ring to match your solitaire engagement ring doesn’t have to be difficult. Just keep in mind the metal, setting, and style of your engagement ring when shopping for an eternity band. With these tips in mind, you’re sure to find the perfect complement to your already beautiful wedding collection.
