Coppa Club’s newest location The Bath Townhouse, is now open. The Bath Townhouse is Coppa Club’s 11th location and their second property in the South-West of England. Opening with an intriguing bi-level concept, The Bath Townhouse boasts two separate floors, each with their own personality, allowing guests to use the space in different ways to suit their mood.
The striking Grade II listed property, with a classic Georgian façade and original Art Deco features, sits on Old Bond Street in the heart of Bath’s bustling shopping district. Centring around the original art deco staircase, The Bath Townhouse is set across two floors, ready to be explored from early morning to late evening.
The ground floor will host a vibrant main restaurant, bar and café space. Whilst on the second floor, guests can experience ‘Upstairs at The Townhouse’, a sultry all-day lounge-bar serving signature cocktails and food. At twilight, ‘Upstairs at The Townhouse’ is candle-lit, music is turned up and the atmosphere shifts from relaxed daytime to an intimate bar for laughter and chatter. The new place to see and be seen in Bath, meeting friends for drinks or dinner and indulging in late night revelry and the ideal size for private events.
Location
The Bath Townhouse is situated in a prominent location on Old Bond Street – within Bath’s central conservation area – at the junction on Milsom Street, Bath’s most fashionable street. Bath’s shopping district is on the doorstep, as well as Bath Abbey and The Roman Baths, making it ideal for locals and tourists alike. The townhouse will also be a short walk from Queen Square and the Theatre Royal.
Design
The Bath Townhouse’s bi-level interior channels the distinctive Coppa Club feel whilst incorporating glamour and individuality through its art deco inspiration. Guests will notice nods to the history of the building immediately from the façade, through to the subtle touches of the decorative style throughout. This all plays into the vibrant and elegant atmosphere, no matter what floor you are enjoying.
Interior designer Gina Brennan plays homage to the much-loved art-deco design, from the bespoke bar counter and wall panelling to the unique furniture, ceramic tiled floor and lighting, each floor takes inspiration from this adored artistic style.
The ground floor represents Coppa’s classic layout with a restaurant, complete with a playful tiled floor, painted tambour panelling and vibrant colour palette. Whilst ascending to the second floor, a 15-metre mural inspired by artist, SóniaDelauney, appears on the wall behind
the stairs and behind the bar on the first floor. The balcony overlooking the staircase reflects the iconic designs of art deco cinemas or ocean liners with storied pasts.
At ‘Upstairs at The Townhouse’, guests will find woven wallpaper, red panelling, a warm colour palette and a layering of different decorative lights, which all contribute to the opulent yet cosy feel. Throughout the space, the artwork is fun, and furniture is eclectic, creating the home-from-home feel Coppa is known for, but with a touch of glamour.
On the second floor, guests will also find ‘The Oval Room’, an intimate and unique private dining room, featuring a stunning roof lantern in the art deco style. This is an ideal spot for secluded private lunches to more celebratory dinners.
