New Wine Pairing Dinners at Monkey Island Estate

The Monkey Island Estate luxurious private island hotel located on the River Thames in Bray, is thrilled to announce a new series of wine pairing dinners, that will feature and celebrate local English winemakers.

On Friday 27th January, the first wine pairing dinner will take place at The Monkey Island Brasserie in partnership with Fairmile Vineyard, known for their award-winning sparkling white wine and founded by Jan and Anthea Mirkowski. Jan Mirkowski will present the Fairmile Vineyard’s acclaimed range of cuvees, which will be paired with a specially curated menu. Dishes will include Beetroot Cured Lock Duart Salmon to start, followed by Creedy Carver Chicken and Strawberry Posset to end, with ingredients carefully selected by the kitchen team to showcase the various tasting notes of Fairmile Vineyard’s wines.

The next event will take place on 23rd February in partnership with Marlow-based Harrow & Hope, which was named UK winery of the year 2019 at the Wine GB awards. Harrow & Hope, owned by Henry & Kaye Laithwaite, was recently recognised in the Decanter Magazine and is listed as Monkey Island Estate’s signature sparkling wine – proven to be a favourite among the Estate’s guests. Henry Laithwaite will lead the evening’s tasting with a variety of wines which will also be accompanied by a curated food menu to pair.

Additional wine-pairing events for 2023 will be announced soon and guests looking to discover the bespoke dinners are of course also able to maximise their visit with to a stay at the hotel, for the ultimate wine-lovers getaway.
