PGA Catalunya Resort celebrates the iconic Girona Flower Festival

PGA Catalunya Resort, one of the world’s leading real estate developments and fully-serviced lifestyle resorts, is celebrating nearby Girona’s vibrant Flower Festival (Temps de Flors) by offering special menus throughout the Resort between 12th – 20th May 2018.

The historic city of Girona, just 15 minutes from PGA Catalunya Resort in Spain’s northeastern Catalonia region, has long been enjoyed by visitors for its intriguing mix of architecture, winding streets, historic cathedral, the medieval walls of the Old Quarter (BarriVell), picturesque River Onyar and beguiling gastronomy options from rustic local offerings to top restaurants. Visit during the Temps de Flors and see the city come to life with a colourful flourish, making it a perfect time of year to visit and kick of the summer season in style.

The Temps de Flors is a spectacular and historic flower festival which fills the squares and streets of Girona with a kaleidoscope of aroma and colour. There are hundreds of individual displays of flowers, with whole streets becoming vibrant art installations. Combined with accompanying music, lights, fountains and the intoxicating floral scent, the event is a spectacle for all the senses and one of the most beautiful times to visit the region.

The special celebratory menus at PGA Catalunya Resort take inspiration from the beauty of flowers and nature, fresh ingredients and local delights. Options include creamy saffron rice with prawns and clams, marinated asparagus, marigold flower and borago, a herb native to the Mediterranean region, and escalivada, a traditional dish from the Catalonia region of smoky grilled vegetables accompanied with zucchini flower tempura. Also on offer will be special Temps de Flors zucchini pizzas served with a selection of edible flowers.

Delectable dessert offerings include crème brullé of orange blossom with raspberry sorbet and white chocolate, citrus mousse and elderflower with orange and saffron sorbet, and chocolate tartlet with red fruits and hibiscus flower.

The menus enhance an already extensive gastronomy offering across three gourmet dining options at PGA Catalunya Resort including the 1477 restaurant. Featuring the finest from local artisan food producers, 1477 restaurant showcases European cuisine with distinctly Catalan influences.

Room rates at the five-star Hotel Camiral, located in the grounds of PGA Catalunya Resort, start from €200 for a standard room. Enjoy a 15% discount when booking in advance with the ‘Early Bird’ offer and stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
