Princess Yachts Celebrates 50 Years of The Southampton Boat Show With Three Global Launches

From Friday 14th to Sunday 23rd September Princess Yachts will launch three brand new yachts at the 50th Southampton Boat Show. This commitment to the show reflects Princess’s home-market strength and its support for a boat show that has been integral to its 53 years of craftmanship and innovation in Plymouth, England.

The highlight for many at the show will be seeing the innovative and technically-advanced R35 for the first time. Demand to see the R35 has led to Princess manufacturing two launch boats simultaneously to enable two launch events to occur in parallel – its UK appearance will be co-ordinated with an unveiling at the Cannes Yachting Festival in the same week. Princess will also launch in Southampton the powerful and agile V60 and the newest member of the pioneering Princess Flybridge family, the F70.

In addition to the three global launches, Princess Yachts is also presenting in the UK for the first time the V50 Open and V50 Deck Saloon that was launched at Boot Düsseldorf earlier this year. The exceptional Southampton line-up will also include the Princess V40, S60, S65, F43, F49, F55, F62, Y75 and 30M.

Princess R35

The R35 is a genuinely innovative and revolutionary yacht born of a desire to combine all of Princess’s renowned design and quality strengths with new engineering and design partnerships, technologies and materials. As the world’s first R Class performance sports yacht, it’s only fitting that the R35 will see its global launch happen simultaneously in Southampton and Cannes.

The R35, as with all Princess Yachts, is designed and hand-built in Plymouth, England. But uniquely it combines revolutionary performance capabilities, stunning interior and exterior design and race-bred technology to deliver a new Princess performance benchmark of up to 50 knots. Not only is it the fastest-ever Princess yacht, but also sets new standards for on-water behaviour. Its new foiling technology re-defines the traditional limits associated with drag, speed and handling.

With the exceptional performance delivered via the innovative Princess Active Foil System and carbon-fibre hull, the R35’s cabin and interior layout delivers luxurious surroundings to reflect Princess’s expectation that owners and occupants will have an increased desire to stay aboard.

Externally, the R35 reflects Princess’s renewed focus on elegance, purpose and an overall styling ambition where form and function are aligned: the R35 looks fast and focused even when moored.

Designed in partnership with world-famous Ben Ainslie Racing Technologies and legendary Italian styling house Pininfarina, the R35 is a powerful expression of intent from a company hitting a rich vein of form: Princess Yachts, renowned for British craftsmanship and engineering pedigree, is experiencing record financial results and order books as the R35 is brought to market. Now is the ideal time to reveal its most technologically advanced and significant sports yacht ever.

Princess V60

Following the recent announcement of the V Class flagship V78, Princess continues its renewed focus on V Class outdoor living and open boating with the global launch of the V60.

Dynamic and agile, this latest addition to the award-winning V Class range is designed for the adventurous with its incredible performance and sea-keeping, fantastic handling and ability to reach speeds up to 38 knots†. This progressive sports yacht pushes the boundaries in terms of design and innovation with its unique deep-V hull, ensuring fuel and space efficiencies.

Guests can enjoy true open boating thanks to the electric sliding sunroof in the beautifully appointed open-plan saloon or enjoy a tranquil moment at anchor and dine al fresco. The electro-hydraulic garage door hides a 3.3m tender, launched from the bathing platform.

Princess F70

The Flybridge class of luxury yachts has established the Princess brand as a pioneering force. The new Princess F70 strengthens the range and captivates with a clean, modern, elegantly proportioned look, which also meets the demand for flexible and practical living.

The generous 26.6m2 flybridge features a large U-shaped dining area, served by a fully-equipped wetbar and barbecue. On the main deck, an aft galley arrangement opens out towards the cockpit, offering a sociable al fresco dining area with a more formal dining table in the saloon. Huge panoramic windows flood the space with natural light and bring the outside world in.

A pantograph door allows the helmsman easy access to the side decks from the helm station, equipped with top-of-the-range touchscreens and plotters. The lower deck boasts four beautifully-appointed cabins, including a full beam master stateroom.

The Flybridge class is not just known for its focus on delivering owner and guest enjoyment, but also its performance efficiency, attributable to the variable deadrise hull form that provides greater lift and less drag at speed. This enables her to achieve lower planing speeds while still reaching up to 36 knots† with her MAN V12 1400mhp engines.

Princess Yachts look forward to welcoming visitors to the Southampton Boat Show
