VARU by Atmosphere Opens in the North-West Malé Atoll

As planned and promised, the latest resort from Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, VARU by Atmosphere, opened its doors to guests last Thursday (17th October).

The resort team at VARU by Atmosphere in the North-West Malé Atoll has welcomed its very first guests, who were greeted with a traditional warm Maldivian welcome.

VARU by Atmosphere is the fifth Maldivian property from Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts. 69 Overwater Villas extend across three teardrop-shaped footbridges, while 39 Beach Front Villas sit nestled amongst the greenery on the island. All villas feature traditional Maldivian interior design elements and have easy access to the turquoise blue water of the VARU lagoon.

The five-star VARU by Atmosphere brings a modern, ‘Naturally Maldivian’ essence to the collection, by combining local tradition and culture with contemporary design and first-class service.

The term ‘VARU’ comes from the local language ‘Dhivehi’, and means life in abundance, strength, resilience, and above all, authenticity.

Specialist dining outlets include NÜ – an overwater Mediterranean Seafood Restaurant, CHARCOAL – a Beachside Grill Restaurant, and KAAGÉ – a progressive Maldivian Restaurant serving traditional cuisine with modern flair.
