To celebrate the return of the Six Nations Championship, The Ivy Café, Richmond has created a selection of delicious, limited-edition cocktails to enjoy throughout the tournament from Saturday, 1 February to Friday, 14 March.
The annual international rugby tournament will see six European nations; England, Ireland, France, Wales, Italy and Scotland, compete to be crowned champions, with fixtures taking place at Twickenham Stadium, home to England Rugby and situated just across the river from The Ivy Café, Richmond. In honour of this, the restaurant’s bar team have styled six limited-edition cocktails, representing each participating country, whilst offering fans the opportunity to throw their support behind their own team.
Cocktails include the ‘English Rose’ (£8.75), taking inspiration from quintessentially English ingredients, featuring Beefeater Gin, Pimm’s, Elderflower cordial, topped with Fever-Tree lemonade and garnished with a mint sprig, the ‘Irish Clover’ (£9.75), features Jameson, Lillet Rouge, Cointreau, lime juice and a dash of whisky barrel bitters. Additional cocktails include the ‘French Iris’ (£11.75), featuring Beefeater Gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, sugar syrup, topped with Ivy Champagne, the ‘Scottish Thistle’ (£9.75), made with Plymouth Gin, Chivas 12 year, ginger juice, lemon juice and clear honey, the ‘Welsh Daffodil’ (£9.50), featuring Plymouth Gin, Plymouth Sloe Gin, lemon juice, lavender syrup, garnished with a lavender sprig and the ‘Italian Lily’ (£10.95), featuring MalfyAranciata Gin, Barolo Chinato, Campari and a dash of whisky barrel bitters.
