In true British spirit, the sun is shining and we are heading outside to soak it up in any way we can – alfresco drinking and dining is making its annual comeback and 2018 is doing it in style. Here are some of our recommendations for this summer:
The Rooftop One
Skylight at Tobacco Dock will be kicking off another spectacular sun-filled season on 3rd May 2018, after becoming one of London’s most popular and imaginative rooftop destinations, Skylight is now a firm fixture on any summer hotlist. The biggest rooftop in London, Skylight boasts three floors of bars, street food, live entertainment, croquet, pe?tanque, screens, DJs and an unrivalled view of London’s iconic skyline. Each level of Skylight is dotted with bars serving an all-new refreshing seasonal cocktail menu alongside spritzes, beers, pitchers, punches, bubbly and wine. On the lower level, street food trader Yiro is back and will serve the ultimate summer dishes with their stunning focus on world-flavours.
The Terrace One
With its atmospheric dark walls, rich fabrics and opulent detail, Vijay’s Bar & Lounge provides a haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the streets below. The twenty-five capacity room leads on to a hidden outdoor terrace, an ideal spot for alfresco drinking in the warm summer months ahead. Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, guests can dine on Indian tapas and delicious cocktails, at Charlotte Street’s newest hidden gem.
The Sophisticated One
Adjoining the brasserie at the Devonshire Club is a beautiful garden room that combines colourful and sophisticated seating with elegant foliage – the perfect place for a light meal or a snack for that laid back meeting, or simply taking a breather from a hectic day. The Garden Room opens out onto a spacious oasis, perfect for long summer lunches and post work cocktails.
The Classic One
During the summer Exmouth Market is a hive of activity: restaurants extend into the street under the twinkling lights that crisscross the pavement. Sitting on the top corner of the market, Coin Laundry’s newly refurbished and bright interior is an inviting day to night spot. This Summer, Clerkenwell locals will be able to perch on tables outsides and enjoy ice-cold pints of Coin Laundry’s own lager, accompanied by moreish plates of Lamb scrumpets with wild garlic mayo, then head into the plant-festooned restaurant for dinner and a Strawberry IcecreamNegroni.
The Leafy One
The Clifton pub is situated on a beautiful tree-lined street in St John’s Wood and is complete with a leafy beer garden. Wish that this laid-back community pub was your local while sipping a craft beer or an East London Liquor Company G&T from the house gin menu. Stay for dinner under the stars and enjoy dishes such as Wild Sea Bass with Mussels, Fennel and Nduja followed by Baileys Pannacotta with Espresso Syrup a Biscuit Crumb.
The Bank Holiday One
Feria De Londres, returns this Spring Bank Holiday to bring the vitality of a traditional AndalucianFeria to heart of London. Feel as if you are in Andalucia rather than Southwark as you enjoyFlamenco dancing shows, interactive workshops and live Spanish music along the banks of the Thames. What better way to soak up the bank holiday sunshine than by enjoying delicious Spanish tapas, refreshing cocktails and live performances.
