Northamptonshire-based countryside hotel Whittlebury Hall has launched a brand-new gin-themed afternoon tea.

Not only is the seasonal afternoon tea be accompanied with a refreshing G&T, but the selection of sweet treats on offer also includes some gin-infused cakes and pastries.

On the menu is a gin and tonic macaron, rhubarb and ginger cupcake with elderflower gin cream; blackberry gin jelly trifle with fresh mint; elderflower meringue nest with apple compote and elderflower cream; and raspberry scones with gin and raspberry jam, and clotted cream.

This is accompanied by a selection of savoury snacks including cucumber and cream cheese finger sandwiches; marmalade-glazed gammon and mustard bridge roll; Cobblers nibble cheese and leek tart; beetroot, goats cheese and truffle éclair, with candied walnuts and chives.

The gin afternoon tea is available from now until the 1st December, from just £22 per person, including all of the above and a pot of tea or coffee and a glass of gin and tonic.
