October marks the end of the wine harvest in Frankfurt and to celebrate, Jumeirah Frankfurt, one of the city’s most luxurious hotels, has just unveiled a series of unique wine experiences to ensure that everyone from social drinkers to wine aficionados can discover the city’s thriving wine scene.
Frankfurt is one of the few German cities to have a vineyard on its doorstep. With Jumeirah Frankfurt, guests can visit the Rheingau region (famous around the world for its fine Rieslings) and enjoy wine tasting at the Kaufmann Vineyard; one of the most beautiful in Germany. The hotel will transport guests in a private limousine to the vineyard where they will embark on a sensory journey and try some of the region’s finest wines. The experience will be complemented with cheese that perfectly matches the notes of the served wine; and can be enjoyed for just £80 per person.
Jumeirah Frankfurt is also delighted to host a series of highly anticipated Winemakers Dinners taking place on 25 October and 29 November. Guests can indulge in a four-course dining experience at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Max on One Grillroom, which will be matched with a flight of outstanding wines. There will also be appearances from the restaurant’s chefs and representatives from the chosen vineyards who will talk through the inspiration behind each course and the accompanied wine.
On 27 September, guests will be taken on a culinary journey to Italy, where they can enjoy a classic Bisteccaalla Fiorentina paired with the outstanding grapes of Omina Romana. The open kitchen allows guests to watch the chefs meticulously prepare the menu on the grill. On 25 October, the Winemakers Dinner then shifts its focus to exquisite mushrooms, where guests can experience the culinary delights of autumn in Frankfurt, with a menu that focusses on truffles and mushrooms, paired with wine from the Ellermann Spiegel winery. To round off the series, the dinner on 29 November will celebrate all things champagne, with the hotel’s Head Chef, Nils-LeventGrün creating a menu that perfectly underlines the diverse notes of the champagnes from Maison Veuve Clicquot. At this event, guests can meet also meet Executive Chef Frank Hartung and the other winemakers from the series for an intimate evening full of culinary delights and interesting tales.
For those wanting to experience some of the city’s top drinking haunts, Jumeirah Frankfurt is in the heart of the city, so most places are within walking distance of the hotel. The concierge’s top recommendations include modern bars such as ‘Walhofs’, traditional taverns like ‘Dünker’, and international vinotheques such as ‘Westlage’.
Frankfurt is a destination that is full of discovery and surprises, so it doesn’t matter if the glass is half empty or half full, there’s clearly room for more wine this Autumn.
